When we were introduced to this vintage seaside cottage, it was divided up into small rooms that failed to take advantage of the phenomenal views. We completely remodeled the house from top to bottom. First, we relocated the kitchen to the back of the house— taking down walls to create flow. We added a fireplace feature wall to the new living room and incorporated dramatic glass sliders that extend the living space outwards into the sand and surf. Three small kids call this their weekend and summer home, so we paid special attention to making it kid-friendly; we selected outdoor fabrics for the living room, installed durable stone flooring, and made resilient yet unique furniture choices including a driftwood dining table and plexiglass coffee table.
