In this Westchester family home we were tasked with designing a combination living room and kids play area located at the intersection of three kids bedrooms. This young family had three children under the age of six and wanted each of them to have a unique space all their own while proving a functional common space for everyone to gather, read, and play at the center. We loved designing a custom built-in bookcase in a angled corner, and window seat with hidden toy storage. We added wainscoting to all the walls to provide a warmth to this second floor space and focused on soft, durable furniture in layered blues and browns. Each of the kids bedrooms provide a peek into their personalities. A guitar-themed room for a budding rocker, an enchanted fairy paradise for a little princess, and a colorful bohemian nursery for the newest member of the family.
